As many of you know by now, New Mexico public schools are required to have a 100% comprehensive nicotine policy per NMAC 6.12.4. One of the key components to implementing these news policies is integrating progressive and supportive discipline measures. This can feel difficult especially with so many competing priorities at any given school, but 24/7 is always working to make it as easy as possible.

We want to highlight a new resource available at no cost to school districts across New Mexico! Schools can now utilize our Parent & Guardian Toolkit when students are found in violation of school nicotine policies. Progressive and supportive discipline measures are not only much more effective in helping youth with nicotine addiction than punitive types of discipline are, but it is now required by state rules to provide those types discipline.
